Peach

Peaches are grown all across Turkey, but half of the production takes place in the Marmara region. Early varieties are produced in the Mediterranean, while late-season ones are cultivated in the Marmara and Aegean regions. Peaches hold an important place in global production and export. In Turkey, peaches are generally yellow-fleshed varieties. In recent years, due to their smooth skin, the production and export of nectarine varieties have also increased.

What Are the Varieties of Peaches?

We export five different types or varieties. These include Francoise, Vista Rich, Royal Glory, Elegant Lady, and JH Hale.

Francoise

The Francoise peach is a sweet and juicy variety. In Turkey, it is mainly grown in the Marmara and Aegean regions. The first fruits are usually harvested in June. The skin of the fruit is yellowish-green with light red speckles. The fruits are generally medium-sized and aromatic. Francoise is a popular peach variety.

Vista Rich

The Vista Rich peach is a high-quality variety known for its sweet taste and delicious flesh. This peach was developed in the United States and is grown in Turkey.

Vista Rich peaches are harvested in Turkey during their productive season in July and August. The outer skin is yellow with a reddish hue, and the flesh is juicy, sweet, and flavorful. It also has a low fiber content, making it easier to digest.

This variety is widely grown in Turkey, especially in the Marmara region. Vista Rich peaches are ideal for healthy diets and make a sweet, nutritious snack. In addition, this type of peach is consumed fresh but also used in making marmalade, jam, and desserts.

Royal Glory

The Royal Glory peach is sweet, juicy, and aromatic. It is grown in Turkey’s Mediterranean, Aegean, and Marmara regions, particularly in Bursa and Izmir. The peach tree blossoms in spring with beautiful flowers, signaling the arrival of the season. Royal Glory peaches are harvested efficiently in August and September.

Royal Glory peaches are consumed fresh and also used in making marmalade, jam, syrup, and ice cream. They are well-known for their delicious taste, nutritional value, and health benefits. Peaches are rich in vitamins A and C, as well as iron, potassium, and fiber.

Elegant Lady

This peach is cultivated particularly in Turkey’s warmer and more humid regions such as Mersin, Adana, Antalya, and Izmir. It begins to blossom in May and is harvested in June and July.

Elegant Lady peaches are known not only for their flavor but also for their durability. Thanks to their long shelf life, they are consumed fresh or processed into dried fruit, jam, and compote.

J.H. Hale

The J.H. Hale peach is a well-known variety in the fruit world. It is a large, round fruit with a reddish blush on its skin. It has a very sweet and aromatic flavor, along with a juicy texture.

The J.H. Hale peach originates from California, USA, but it can also be cultivated in some regions of Turkey, particularly in the Marmara region (Bursa, Kocaeli, etc.).

This variety is harvested in late August and early September and reaches consumers at its most flavorful and productive stage during this period.
